HOW TO TURN RIGHT AT A TWO-LANE ROUNDABOUT

Turning right a a roundabout can feel challenging for many learner drivers, especilly when multiple lanes are involved. Following a clear step-by-step process will help you to stay safe and confident on road.

STEP 1 Approach with Care

As you approach a roundabout, check the mirror to look for the traffic behind you and your right-hand side lane, if you are currently in the left lane, signal to the right, look over your shoulder to the right to make sure that it is safe then change to the right lane and reduce your speed then stop before the stop line if there are traffics approaching from your right-hand side.

STEP 2 Give Way and Enter

Always give way to vehicles already in the roundabout, particularly those approaching from your right. Once it is safe, enter the roundabout using the right-hand lane.

STEP 3 Travel Through the Roundabout

Remain in the right lane as you travel pass the first and the second exits. Avoid to cutting across to the left lane while inside the roundabout, as this creates unnecessary risk and confusion for other drivers.

STEP 4 Prepare to Exit

Before you pass the second exit, immediately signal to the left to indicate your intention to leave the roundabout

STEP 5 Exit Safely

Exit the roundabout smoothly and merge into the correct lane for your intended direction of travel.
