01 Hook turns & intersection planning Some intersections require a right turn from the left lane where hook-turn signs apply. Read signs early and review the official guidance before attempting an unfamiliar manoeuvre. Transport Victoria: hook turns ↗
02 Trams & pedestrian awareness Watch for tram stops, lane markings and people crossing near the station and shopping areas. Roadside tram stops and stops with safety zones have different requirements; use the official guide to understand them. Transport Victoria: driving with trams ↗
03 Lane choice & safe stopping Plan your journey before setting off. Notice turn restrictions and parking signs, leave space around other road users, and avoid sudden lane changes. Any lesson meeting point must be safe, legal and agreed in advance.
