This session is designed for learners who can already drive safely with minimal guidance and want a practice assessment before their official test. Your instructor will select suitable roads and tasks for your ability and the conditions.

Observation: checking mirrors and blind spots, scanning ahead and recognising developing hazards.
Road positioning and control: steering, lane choice, safe speed and smooth use of the controls.
Traffic decisions: approaching intersections, choosing safe gaps and responding to signs and signals.
Manoeuvres: practising suitable parking or turning tasks as part of the session.
Feedback: identifying strengths, recurring mistakes and priorities for further practice.

The 90 minutes includes the briefing, practice assessment and feedback. It is not 90 minutes of assessment plus extra lesson time.

This is a practice session with a HIENZ instructor, not an official VicRoads test. It does not issue a licence, guarantee a pass or promise the route or result of your official test. Available in supported Melbourne suburbs, subject to instructor availability.

How to book your prepaid mock test

Purchase the voucher. Complete payment so your prepaid lesson voucher becomes available in the correct HIENZ account.
Sign in to the learner’s account. If the voucher is a gift, complete the transfer before the recipient books.
Select the matching service. Choose the 90-minute mock driving test service in a supported Melbourne suburb, then select an available instructor and time.
Check the voucher is applied. Review the booking payment details before confirming. If the voucher is not shown, check the account, service, location and expiry date before making another payment.

This voucher covers one 90-minute mock driving test session in an automatic car. Select the matching mock test service when booking. It is a prepaid service voucher, not a dollar balance for use across different services.

Giving the voucher to someone else?

Buying for someone else? Have their name, mobile number and email address ready. Follow the prepaid lesson voucher steps in our guide to transfer the voucher to the correct recipient.

Sending a voucher photo alone does not transfer the lesson. Complete the gifting process in your account, then send the recipient their certificate and booking information. The original expiry date still applies.

Your prepaid lesson voucher becomes available after payment has been received and processed. An unpaid order does not provide a paid lesson entitlement.

No. This is a practice session with a HIENZ instructor. Your official driving test must be booked separately. This voucher does not include official test fees or a test-day car hire package.

Learners who already have basic driving and manoeuvring skills and can drive safely with minimal prompting. If you still need frequent help with car control or traffic decisions, general driving lessons may be a better next step.

Will I be told what to improve?

Your instructor will explain the main strengths and areas needing more practice. Use this feedback to plan further lessons or supervised practice. A positive practice result does not guarantee an official test pass.

Will we use the official test route?

Routes and tasks depend on your booking location, traffic and suitable practice roads. No specific official test route is guaranteed.

Where can I use the voucher?

This voucher is valid in HIENZ service areas in Melbourne, Victoria only. Check suburb coverage and instructor availability before purchasing.

How long is the voucher valid?

The voucher is valid for 36 months from purchase. Transferring it to another person does not restart the original expiry period.

What should I bring?

Bring a current learner permit or licence that allows you to drive in Victoria and any required glasses or contact lenses. Tell your instructor about your driving experience, concerns and any official test booking.

Can I use it for a different service?

This voucher is linked to the 90-minute mock driving test service. Do not assume it will apply to a general driving lesson, parking lesson or a different duration. Ask HIENZ about changing an existing voucher before booking.

Which booking and refund conditions apply?

Bookings are subject to service-area coverage, instructor availability and HIENZ booking and cancellation terms. Refunds are subject to the HIENZ Delivery and Refund Policy and your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
