A practical start

Three lessons tailored to your progress

The STARTUP Package includes three separate 60-minute automatic driving lessons. Your instructor will discuss your experience and adapt the lessons to your ability.

  • Start with suitable foundations: seating, mirrors, vehicle controls, moving off and stopping smoothly.
  • Build everyday driving skills: steering, positioning, speed control and approaching intersections as you progress.
  • Develop observation habits: checking mirrors and blind spots, scanning ahead and responding to hazards.
  • Practise suitable manoeuvres: introduce or improve parking and turning skills when you are ready.
  • Review your progress: understand what is improving and what to practise before your next session.

This is a flexible learning package, not a fixed three-lesson syllabus. Beginners and learners with some experience may work on different skills. Three lessons do not guarantee test readiness or a test pass.

Simple steps

How to use your three lesson vouchers

  1. Check coverage and purchase. Confirm this package is valid in the learner’s suburb, sign in to the correct HIENZ account and complete payment.
  2. Transfer the gift if needed. Follow our prepaid voucher guide so the package is held in the learner’s account before booking.
  3. Choose the matching service. Select Automatic Driving Lesson – 60 minutes in an eligible location, then choose an available instructor and time.
  4. Check the voucher is applied. Review the booking payment details before confirming. If it is not shown, check the account, service, location and expiry date before making another payment.
  5. Book the remaining lessons. Use one included lesson voucher for each matching 60-minute booking. Arrange the sessions at available times before the package expires.

The package provides three separate 60-minute lessons: 180 minutes in total. After one lesson is redeemed, two remain; after two are redeemed, one remains. It is a prepaid lesson package, not a dollar balance for different services.

Giving the voucher to someone else?

Buying for someone else? Have their name, mobile number and email address ready. Follow the prepaid lesson voucher steps in our guide to transfer the voucher to the correct recipient.

Sending a voucher photo alone does not transfer the lesson. Complete the gifting process in your account, then send the recipient their certificate and booking information. The original expiry date still applies.

Use the phone number registered with your HIENZ account as the payment reference so we can allocate your payment to the correct account.

Cash

Pay the instructor before the lesson. Let them know which voucher purchase or booking the payment is for so it is recorded correctly.

Your prepaid lesson voucher becomes available after payment has been received and processed. An unpaid order does not provide a paid lesson entitlement.

Support a staff member or client with three 60-minute automatic driving lessons. The STARTUP Package is a practical option for learner support, workplace rewards and milestone gifts.

Buying for several staff members or clients? Our organisation guide explains how to set up your HIENZ account, purchase vouchers, manage associated learners and find your invoices.

Organisation registration takes place during a purchase or booking when the Corporate option is available. Have your organisation name, account manager's contact details and the recipient's details ready. If you already have an account, sign in before purchasing.

Once organisation administrator access is active, use My Organisation to manage associated clients and bookings, and My Organisation → History for transaction records and paid invoices. Personal purchase invoices remain under My Profile → Purchases.

Before buying for several learners, confirm the package’s eligible locations and each learner’s suburb. Follow the guide to assign or gift packages to the correct recipients. Purchasing several packages does not automatically distribute them.

What is included?

Three separate 60-minute automatic driving lessons with HIENZ Driving School, totalling 180 minutes. Official driving tests, government test fees and test-day car hire are not included.

Is this package suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. Tell your instructor about your experience before the first lesson so the session can start at a suitable level. Learners with some experience can also use the package to develop their skills.

Do I have to take all three lessons on the same day?

No. The package is designed as three separate bookings. Choose available dates and times that suit your learning plan and complete the lessons before expiry.

Can I choose my instructor?

Choose an available instructor who offers the matching service in your eligible location. Booking the same instructor can support continuity, but availability is not guaranteed.

Where can I use the package?

Use it only in the eligible locations shown for this product and within HIENZ suburb coverage. Check the location restriction and instructor availability before purchasing.

How long is the package valid?

This package is valid for 36 months from purchase. All included lessons share the package’s original expiry period. Gifting the package does not restart that period.

Can I use it for another duration or service?

The included vouchers are linked to 60-minute automatic driving lessons. Do not assume they apply to parking lessons, mock tests, test-day packages or other durations. Ask HIENZ about changing an existing package before booking.

Will three lessons be enough to pass my test?

The amount of practice needed varies with experience, progress and driving skills. Your instructor can advise on areas needing further work. This package does not guarantee test readiness or a pass.

What should I bring?

Bring a current learner permit or licence that allows you to drive in the state where your lessons take place, along with any required glasses or contact lenses.

Which booking and refund conditions apply?

Bookings are subject to service-area coverage, instructor availability and HIENZ booking and cancellation terms. Refunds are subject to the HIENZ Delivery and Refund Policy and your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
